Directed by: Joe Baughman Cameras: Canon 60D (Digital), Canon AE-1 Program (Film) In 2009, Kodak™ discontinued its production of Kodachrome™, and in December 2010, the final Kodachrome processing facility ended the processing of this particular slide film. Like many old technologies (that are not necessarily inferior to the new technologies), it was overrun by digitization. Even so, some slide films still remain (many of which are no longer manufactured but still linger in photo stores here and there). After being offered a job to work on a music video for Johnny Quaid (co-founder of Removador Recordings and Solutions) I, Joe Baughman (a 22-year-old recent film school graduate, unknown to most of the world), decided that the fading of slide film and the song entitled "If Josie Wails Can Fail" by The Ravenna Colt had much in common. I proceeded to combine the stories of the passing of film and the passing of former heroes into one music video. This was no small task, for in order to maximize the comparison between digital and film (and, indirectly, aid in telling the story of the song) I primarily used still photos (created by digital pictures, negative film, and slide film). Over 3000 individual pictures were taken to make this project. Furthermore, the majority of it was shot in outdoor northern Indiana in below freezing temperatures.
